Student Voice
We had our first ‘Student Voice’ meeting today at 11 am.
The children self nominated for the month. All interested children were invited to attend today’s meeting, where their rights as children were discussed.
They shared their visions for Scoil Eoin Baiste, following a brainstorming session. Some ideas included an obstacle course at lunch time, general playground equipment (swings, slides etc.), hot lunches, our school flags and suggestions for school tours.
One group of children from 2nd class, who attended the meeting, decided to source gloves and bags from Sharon to collect rubbish around the school grounds. What an incredible group of students!
We will meet again next Tuesday in the infant classroom.
Well done to all involved!

UNCRC, 1989:
Article 12 says that every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously. This principle recognises children and young people as actors in their own lives and applies at all times throughout a child's life.
