Information for Parents: Waste-Free Day for 3rd and 4th Class- 11.12.24
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are excited to announce a Waste-Free Day for students in 3rd and 4th class! This initiative aims to encourage sustainable habits and raise awareness about the importance of reducing waste. Here’s everything you need to know:
What is Waste-Free Day?
On Waste-Free Day, students are encouraged to bring a lunch and snacks that produce little to no waste. The goal is to eliminate disposable packaging and instead use reusable, recyclable, or compostable materials. Children are encouraged to wear greens items of clothing to get other children questioning what is happening in our room.
Why a Waste-Free Day?
- Environmental Awareness: Teach students about the impact of waste on our environment.
- Sustainability: Encourage habits that reduce waste and promote reusability.
- Community Involvement: Inspire families to think about waste reduction in daily life.
Ideas for preparing your child’s lunch.
- Use Reusable Containers: Pack sandwiches, fruits, and snacks in reusable lunchboxes or containers.
- Choose a Reusable Water Bottle: Avoid single-use plastic bottles.
- Avoid Single-Use Packaging: Refrain from using cling film, plastic bags, or foil.
- Pack Compostable Items: Fruits and vegetables can be packed with minimal or no packaging.
- Include Cutlery: Use reusable utensils for any items requiring them.
